Anotation This thesis analyses the process of learning of an adult person with disabilities. It focuses on the value of education as perceived by the society, and on the meaning of education for the life of an individual. The thesis presents the main paradigms in the field of adult education, especially education of persons with disabilities. The paradigms are based on requirements of life-long learning programs and of other scientific disciplines, dealing with education and guidance of adults. The thesis also gives the general characteristics of adult education as such and describes the main specifics of persons with disabilities. The professional development of teachers, which also includes the teacher's further education, is one of the main strategic objectives of the contemporary school system. This work examines which types and forms of further education are most frequently chosen. The work also investigates the processes of this kind of education at different types of schools - kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. The theoretical part of the work gradually focuses on the history and explanation of the basic terms and objectives of further education. In the following chapters the work concentrates on the legal background, the kinds and the forms of further education. The empirical part of the work makes statements on the basis of the research objectives. The text content analysis (of kindergarten annual reports and other records) is used in order to verify the statements. The research sample was randomly chosen from the representatives of kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. On the basis of the above mentioned research it is stated that the heads of primary and secondary schools act accordingly to the school regulations: which means that the evaluation of teacher training and further education is included in the annual reports of the schools. Collegiality and Individuality at School

This bachelor thesis deals with the relation between individuality and collegiality among pedagogical staff of vocational schools in the Czech Republic. It recognizes the ambivalence of these terms. It describes elements, which act contradictorily and whose influence is to be suppressed, as well as elements, which on the contrary can effectively boost mutual interconnectedness of these fundamental principles and therefore lead to improvement of the quality of education. The theoretical part is a literature search of available resources dealing with the topic in specialized books and journals. This part was enriched by the author's own point of view on the matter and revised with respect to the conclusions from the research. The research is a record of six in-depth interviews with selected teachers from vocational schools in Central Bohemia region. These interviews were carried out by the author according to her own scenario which can be found in the appendix. The output from these interviews is a description of the real functioning of vocational schools (primarily their pedagogical staff) from the point of view of the respondents. Life-Long Learning in the Development of Rural Region

The aim of this work is to assess the present status and accessibility of education in the rural areas and evaluate how it is used. This will then be compared to the real need for education for the development of such areas and include solutions. The work will be focused on studying human capital in rural areas, on the condition of life-long learning in a rural environment and on the views and opinions of municipal authorities and local inhabitants. Personal experience and observations from many years of working in the field of rural development are used in this work, the main result of which is the confirmation of a hypothesis that rural areas need life-long learning for continued development. Without this, favorable conditions cannot arise and its growth will be rendered unsustainable.
Continuing Professional Education of Nurses Working in Outpatient Facilities

This bachelor thesis focuses on the lifelong education of nurses employed at outpatient physician offices. We tried to ascertain whether nurses employed in the outpatient segment feel the need for lifelong learning, whether they are supported by their physicians-employers within the lifelong education process, and what forms of lifelong learning they prefer. The results of the questionnaire research imply that the nurses feel the need for lifelong learning and most of them would educate themselves even without being obligated to do so by law. As regards different education activities, the nurses prefer participating at seminars. A majority of the physicians-employers support their nurses in the lifelong education process.
Qualification structure of population versus unemployment in the Czech Republic

The economic policy of the Czech Republic is battled with rigidities of labour market, which decline its flexibility. One of this rigidities is inconvenient structure of potential skilled labour force. This thesis is also aimed at its analysis compared with actual needs of labour market. In theoretical part of this thesis are presented characteristics of the Czech educational system and qualification structure of population. The practical part is dedicated to the labour market -- its needs and discrepancies between suply and demand, which are caused by inconvenient qaulification structure of population. The pivot of this thesis is emphasis on lifelong learning, which is getting necessity today. As a result of this thesis are suggestions of possible solutions to shortage of skilled labour force.
